Top team for Operational Excellence

The Management Holding of a. hartrodt has staffed its Operational Excellence (OpEx) team with three top managers in order to bundle expert know-how from strategic business units. Brian Engholm Kristiansen as Head of Global Procurement, Jan Buelck as Head of Sales Europe and Karl Greilich as Business Process Manager are tasked to create and maintain a continuous improvement culture in the company. "We are creating new concepts for our services, our goal is growth through excellence," says Brian Engholm Kristiansen. The Dane started at a. hartrodt last October, Jan Buelck has been in his position since May 2022, Greilich since 2018.

Quality freight forwarder with space for innovations

As a strategic management approach, OpEx is holistically oriented in order to strengthen a. hartrodt’s position in the market. "We want to continue to position ourselves as a quality freight forwarder delivering an excellent service to our customers at all times, but also create space for innovations" says Karl Greilich. Digitalization is making an important contribution to this: "With the CargoWise One supply chain platform and globally standardized processes we provide our employees worldwide strong tools to meet those expectations."

Added value for sales and procurement

Jan Buelck has the task of developing a comprehensive sales strategy. This will set the framework for the commercial operations of individual country organizations, taking into account local requirements. The OpEx approach makes it possible to "maintain quality standards for organic growth". According to Jan Buelck, key figures for performance measuring of salespeople improve support in the sales division. "In addition, our partners will notice that we are able to offer even more customized products in the future," says Brian Engholm Kristiansen. According to him, procurement must manage to build further on excellent partnerships with important suppliers, to keep a competitive edge in a volatile and changing market: "Our global foundation is already good and with OpEx, a. hartrodt will simply have a uniform and clear focus." Karl Greilich is where all the threads come together as he designs globally aligned operational business processes in the OpEx team and ensures that they are compatible for different business areas.
