Management Holding appoints Head of Global Procurement

Brian Engholm Kristiansen ensures customers worldwide reliable sea freight products.

Since October 2022, Brian Engholm Kristiansen has been responsible as Head of Global Procurement at a. hartrodt. The new position was created as part of the generation change at a. hartrodt. "My task is to work together with our internal procurement teams and external reliable partners to ensure the availability of good sea freight products globally," explains Brian Engholm Kristiansen. He adds that this means clear customer benefits: "As an internationally positioned service provider, we will be able to provide even stronger products in the future."

Well established in the sea freight sector for three decades

Due to his international career in the sea freight sector, the 54-year-old Dane is well experienced. For three decades he worked for shippers from the production and trade sectors, freight forwarders and carriers, most recently in Antwerp. For a. hartrodt, he works from Hamburg and Antwerp – and beyond: "What is important is not only what happens in Northern Europe. I have to be where business is done worldwide."

Clear focus on customer value

The international shipping and freight forwarding market has seen unprecedented changes in the last years. Brian Engholm Kristiansen is working in the team of the Management Holding in a focused way with the Regional Directors. According to him, trade-specific knowledge, IT processes as well as diversified procurement play a significant role in ensuring that a. hartrodt will continue to be a preferred business partner in the future: "My experience from both shippers' and transporters' sides gives me a different angle on the key drivers for the parties involved." He sees international trade as close teamwork between professionals - built on "core values like competence, respect, accountability, integrity and good relations."
