New Regional Sales Manager for North America

Marco Baeckmann wants to push sales in the USA and Canada "to a new level".

With a newly created sales structure, a. hartrodt is pursuing a consistent course of growth in one of the world's strongest economic regions. Since March 2024, Marco Baeckmann has been responsible for a seven-member sales team in the USA and Canada as Regional Sales Manager North America from Mississauga in the province of Ontario, Canada. The 34-year-old is attracted by "the opportunity to lead a great team in a region with great potential". In the newly created position, he wants to "push sales in North America to a new level". Customers will have a dedicated contact person. Marco Baeckmann reports to Regional Director Mike Schaefer.

Understanding of other markets and freight forwarding experience

Marco Baeckmann was previously Business Development Manager at a. hartrodt Canada. The European with an Italian mother and German father worked in Asia for over a decade. With an understanding of other markets and 13 years of freight forwarding experience, he wants to contribute to "reducing cultural gaps between our offices". He works closely together with the Managing Directors Soeren Thode (USA) and Andreas Reiche (Canada).

Generate new business and increase shipment volumes

Marco Baeckmann's priority is to evenly grow the regional sales team: "Our aim is to offer comprehensive coverage and generate new business, while at the same time increasing our shipment volumes." Through the combination of the new sales structure and the use of new processes of the CargoWise One supply chain platform, he expects "solid growth with our top tier regional customers". In the USA, they mainly come from the automotive, machinery and high-tech industries, and the same in Canada plus mining. In North America, a. hartrodt employs 60 people at six locations.

Before the US elections in early November 2024, Marco Baeckmann assures customers in the USA and Canada: "Thanks to our deep roots in the market and the connection to our global network, we remain a solid and reliable logistics point of contact".
