Sufficient capacities at fair prices – this is what airfreight customers can expect from a. hartrodt when the winter flight schedule with the new rates comes into effect on November 1, 2023. The negotiations have been finalized since mid-October. Many passenger planes have been flying to most destinations worldwide since the end of the pandemic, and passengers paid on average a quarter more in the first half of 2023 than before the pandemic. Nadine Wild, Manager Pricing & Procurement Airfreight at a. hartrodt in Frankfurt, explains: "Because of the high ticket prices, it's possible for freight forwarders to get good freight rates." All airfreight customers of a. hartrodt will benefit from this.

Brussels: Smaller shipments of medical equipment and dangerous goods

Stefaan De Decker, Branch Manager at a. hartrodt (Belgium) Airfreight at Brussels Airport, and his team mainly handle smaller shipments. "We check on a daily basis to see which airline has the best rate," he reports. In Europe's de facto capital, the international freight forwarder has numerous airfreight customers with medical equipment and dangerous goods. "We address all needs and want to grow with new business," stresses Stefaan De Decker.

Frankfurt: Fixed capacities for consolidations

At the European aircargo hub in Frankfurt, which connects 50 destinations worldwide, a. hartrodt builds its own air cargo pallets to be loaded directly onto passenger flights. "We are currently experiencing good demand," says Nadine Wild. For example, according to the expert, airfreight imports from China "pay off", while freight rates for U.S. flights to/from Europe are currently higher. However, a. hartrodt's German airfreight team tends to plan for the long term and has booked fixed capacities with its own allocation for consolidations.

Besides Germany and Belgium, the air freight forwarder has had a strong presence in Europe for a quarter of a century with a. hartrodt nederland airfreight at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. By the way, Nadine Wild expects prices to rise again next year.
