New Country Manager at a. hartrodt in Romania

Since the beginning of April, Daniela Rusu has been heading a. hartrodt Romania in Bucharest as Country Manager. Until the end of June, she was supported by Silvia Poralo, who successfully managed the Romanian company for two years before changing to a. hartrodt USA in New York to assume a senior management position. Daniela Rusu reports to Sebastian Endt, Regional Director Central and Eastern Europe. After 27 years with various international forwarding companies in the Romanian capital, the 47-year-old Romanian has a tight network. Excited about the chance to work "in a company with service and customer care at the highest level", she says: "This fits perfectly with my personal and professional needs".

Dual strategy: Operational excellence and growth management

Daniela Rusu's strategy is to clearly differentiated in two directions: Operational excellence with the aim to continuously improve the existing business and growth management with the goal to grow the business, client's portfolio and thereby automatically the market share.

Sea freight via Constanța, airfreight via Bucharest and Budapest

Important pillars for a. hartrodt Romania are sea and airfreight. "For sea freight, Constanța’s strategic location gives us a range of advantages and a huge potential over other ports in the Black Sea region," says Daniela Rusu. As first sales action she has initiated cost-effective consolidated import services from China with a maximum transit time of 40 days between Shanghai, Shenzhen, Ningbo, Qingdao and Constanța. "For airfreight the focus in the next period will be on worldwide emergency services to any time-critical needs of our existing and new customers using Bucharest and Budapest in Hungary as main airports," she announces. The services include same day delivery, on board courier, charter services.

Daniela Rusu is pursuing "a clear plan for permanent optimization and continuous improvement in all business areas". By the end of the year, she wants to double the number of staff and in two years at the latest open an office in Timisoara, Cluj or Arad.
