Management Holding appoints Group COO

Karl Greilich is responsible for forwarding-oriented, operational activities with focus on CargoWise One.

Since October 1, 2023, Karl Greilich has been heading the freight forwarding operations of the a. hartrodt group of companies as Chief Operation Officer (COO). In the newly created position, the 36-year-old is responsible for the backend structure of the CargoWise One (CW1) supply chain platform, which will gradually go live worldwide from the beginning of 2024. With the subordinate areas of Business Process Management, Technical Configuration and Organization Data Management, Karl Greilich wants to contribute to transforming a. hartrodt into the "market leader in the field of process digitization and process innovation". His vision: "Consolidating the position as the leading quality freight forwarder in our segment".

International career between Sydney and Hamburg

Having been with the company for eleven years, Karl Greilich is very familiar with structures in which the family-owned company operates. The logistics graduate worked for almost six years in customer and warehouse management at a. hartrodt Australia in Sydney before moving to Hamburg. There, as Business Process Manager, he most recently led an international team to prepare for the CW1 implementation.

Highly qualified team for roll-out of CargoWise One

Karl Greilich will also be focusing on the roll-out of CW1 "over the next two to three years". He will be supported by a core team of initially around 10 to 15 people from the company's process management, process digitization and quality management departments. "The highly qualified team was formed as part of the conceptual work," he reports. According to him, the roll-out is initially planned in Australia/New Zealand at the beginning of 2024, with other regions such as North America and the Mediterranean/Africa to follow step by step. "Through a high level of transparency, we can ensure that the customer has the right information at the right time and that it can be accessed at any time," emphasizes the COO.

While Karl Greilich is systematically developing the organizational structure, he is focusing on "steadily raising the quality standard". For him, this also includes new concepts for employee training, "in order to impart knowledge effectively and make it easily retrievable".
