Exchange, sustainable ideas, change of perspective – this is what the sales team of a. hartrodt is looking forward to at the world's leading trade fair for the bicycle industry, Eurobike, from June 21 to 25, 2023 in Frankfurt. "With a. hartrodt CycleLOG, we offer customers a decisive competitive advantage because we cover the entire portfolio for bicycle logistics, including transport, contract logistics and distribution," says Peter Zink. The bike-loving Business Development Manager North East Asia at a. hartrodt in Frankfurt likes the change from leisure and sport equipment to the central component of the mobility transition.

Record for bicycle imports to Germany

"The supply chain problems are over," says Peter Zink happily. According to market data from the Bicycle Industry Association ZIV, in 2022, a new record was set with 4.43 million bicycles imported to Germany (up 7 percent compared to 2021). For classic bicycles without batteries, Cambodia is the most important supplier country, followed by Bangladesh. There is strong demand for pedelecs with an assisting electric motor, also as cargo bikes. "Of course, we have transport experience with pedelecs with lithium batteries," Peter Zink underlines.

10 percent of the staff use company bike leasing

In order to actively participate in the mobility transition, a. hartrodt offers its employees in Germany the leasing of company bicycles through its partner Bikeleasing. "Since our launch in October 2022, 48 company bikes have been leased, which corresponds to just under 10 percent of the workforce," reports Martin Argendorf, Manager Human Resources at a. hartrodt. The 36-month term is especially interesting for high-priced bikes up to a maximum of 7,000 euros, he says. According to Martin Argendorf, they "do not have to be used for business purposes, but can also be reserved exclusively for private use.

When it comes to bicycles, the international freight forwarder focuses equally on the environment, logistics and sports. Customers can arrange in advance for trade fair appointments. "And at the Cyclassics Hamburg on August 20, 2023, our cycling team will be happy to compete again together with customers as since 2008," says Peter Zink.
