New features of a. hartrodt's Global Tracking Portal make it even easier and more convenient for customers to track their air and sea freight shipments worldwide. From now on, important documents will be transferred automatically – the bill of lading issued by the carrier for sea freight (House Bill of Lading, HBL) or air freight (House Air Waybill, HAWB), along with the Proof of Delivery (POD). “Customers can view and download all of this independently on our portal,” says Yvonne Boldt-Mehl, IT Business Consultant at a. hartrodt in Hamburg. Following the pilot phase, the number of users has been rising steadily since the beginning of this year.
Search and analysis function used particularly frequently
Yvonne Boldt-Mehl mentions the search function as an example of a particularly frequently used feature: “Here, customers can analyze their shipments using a variety of filters and filter out currently important transport orders.” According to her, the analysis function with business intelligence-based reports is also very popular: “This allows shipments to be broken down according to various criteria and to download emissions reports.”
Highest data quality for complex transport chains
Customers can now log in to the Global Tracking Portal on the a. hartrodt homepage. “Registration via sales is necessary,” emphasizes Jan Buelck, Head of Sales at a. hartrodt. The portal guarantees the highest data quality for complex transport chains with various interfaces: “Transshipments are added automatically thanks to the carrier connection,” says Yvonne Boldt-Mehl. Estimated ship departures and arrivals (ETD/ETA) are updated using machine learning: “Evaluations show that our portal correctly estimates the ETA five days before the Actual Arrival Time (ATA) in 81 percent of cases, with a maximum deviation of one day.”
In the next step the Global Tracking Portal will be connected to 70 additional airlines. “Air freight partial loads will be easier to track,” says Yvonne Boldt-Mehl. A relaunch of the email notification function, including for changed ETD or ETA, will be released in 2026.
