Premiere in Australia: Cool packaging, hot demand

a. hartrodt handles sensitive cosmetic Envirotainer shipments at its Sydney warehouse.

For the first time, a. hartrodt Australia has handled Envirotainers containing injectable cosmetic Botox at its own warehouse in Sydney. The active temperature-controlled container with the sensitive air freight from Zurich (Switzerland) was picked up from Sydney International Airport by a special truck at the beginning of the year. Amelia Angelakis from the Customer Service Department at a. hartrodt Australia found it “very exciting” to supervise the unpacking of the Envirotainer herself. “We are able to maintain a seamless cold-chain from door to door because our warehouse has several separate cool rooms at five, ten and 15 degrees Celsius,” she highlights.

Complex logistics requirements for Botox

According to “ABC News Online”, the cosmetic injection industry in Australia was valued at 4.1 billion US dollars at the end of 2024 and is expected to grow by 19.3 per cent annually until 2030. “The Botox market is booming – and we want to expand with it”, Amelia Angelakis says. The first two Envirotainers successfully shipped from Zurich to Sydney demonstrate “that we can manage complex, temperature-sensitive logistics requirements”.

Expertise and smooth cooperation across continents

Technology, regulations and quality requirements make logistics for high-value perishable cold chains particularly challenging, as the expert explains: “Envirotainers use advanced, certified technologies such as Releye or RAP e2 with active compressors”. This enables significantly better insulation than in conventional Unit Load Devices (ULDs) and temperatures remain stable for much longer. “We split the shipment across two flights due to cargo value purposes,” says Amelia Angelakis. Thanks to its expertise and smooth cooperation across continents, a. hartrodt was able to precisely control the Envirotainers with real-time monitoring.

Next, the customer from the hair and beauty industry requested assistance from a. hartrodt Australia with the transport of a 40-foot high cube refrigerated container, this time from France. In addition, an order for a. hartrodt in New Zealand could follow.
