In Taipei, in the East Asian region of Taiwan, the a. hartrodt office is celebrating its tenth anniversary this month. “As a reliable logistics partner, we use our expertise and long-term partnerships to ensure that Taiwan is closely integrated into our customers' global supply chains,” says Managing Director Jerry Hsu. The Taiwan team has grown to 19 people, and another office has been opened at the important container port in southern Kaohsiung. On the west coast, there are also sales offices in the port of Taichung and in the high-tech and semi-conductor industry city of Hsinchu. In recognition of their many years of service, Jerry Hsu is inviting all local employees to a small celebration.
Focus on trade between Asia and Europe
"From the outset, our focus has been on Asia-Europe trade in both directions. We have continuously expanded this with high-quality service and long-term customer relationships," summarizes Jerry Hsu. As a milestone, he highlights the continuously growing sea freight business, both weekly less-than-container loads (LCL) and full container loads (FCL). In addition, the business has successfully expanded in project logistics and the high-tech industry.
Wind turbines and cruise ships
The shipment of wind turbines is developing into a growth market. Complex heavy cargo handling requires special equipment and route planning, and the experts also score highly in port coordination and customs clearance: “We are at our best when project schedules are tight.” Another niche is the cruise sector: For ship spare parts, a. hartrodt offers comprehensive services ranging from consolidation to port-to-port delivery coordination, customs clearance, and last-mile marine logistics, including time-critical air freight. Apart from that, air freight is dominated by exports of high-value goods such as high-tech and electronics to Germany.
Jerry Hsu and his highly motivated team are working hard to further expand sea and air freight services between Taiwan and Europe. “We also want to drive forward our business in project logistics and renewable energies,” he says.
