Oceania: CargoWise One on the final straight

As Regional Process Manager, Chris Sutcliffe is heavily involved in the Australia/New Zealand roll-out.

Regarding the global roll-out of the CargoWise One (CW1) supply chain platform, Chris Sutcliffe, Regional Process Manager Oceania at a. hartrodt, sees Australia and New Zealand with a total of 160 employees on the final straight. Since September last year, he has been reviewing processes and procedures in both national companies from Brisbane, Australia, in order to adapt them to central standards. The experienced manager is delighted about the "great opportunity to be involved in the global roll-out of CW1". Currently, the freight forwarder is gradually migrating to a standardized, updated CW1 version in 47 countries with its own offices.

Understanding compliance, driving operational improvements

Chris Sutcliffe previously worked as National Customs Manager at a. hartrodt Australia for 5 years of his total of nearly 20 years with the company. He knows how to implement standardized processes effectively: "It's about understanding the importance of compliance while driving operational improvements." By shifting his perspective from national operations to regional strategy, he is "making a broader contribution to our organizational goals".

Close cooperation with the Country Management Team

The CW1 roll-out of all a. hartrodt companies worldwide marks a milestone on the path to digital transformation. The Oceania region is leading the way with the introduction of the new version, and the roll-out should be completed there by the end of the current financial year. Chris Sutcliffe works closely with the Country Management Team, especially with colleagues who take care of databases for organizations and costing/charges: "This is crucial for accurate data and more productivity to improve our service." Globally, he regularly exchanges information with seven colleagues in similar positions as well as the COO, Karl Greilich, in Hamburg.

Chris Sutcliffe is open to Artificial Intelligence (AI) in his work: "There is definitely potential for AI to support data analysis, automate routine tasks and further optimize system efficiencies in the future."
