In 1969, the first moon landing took mankind a giant leap forward – and a. hartrodt left its footprint on a continent that was still far away at the time by founding its first Asian branch in Japan's capital Tokyo. This was followed in the 1990s by companies in South Korea and China, which became a focus area. Today, 389 people work in 29 offices in the Northeast Asia region. Crystal Lam, Regional Process Manager Northeast Asia, has good news for the Chinese New Year tomorrow: "Traditionally, our teams provide back-up resources for customer requirements during the festive season."
Competence growth: Energy Solutions for e-vehicle batteries
Luca Cerruti, Regional Sales Manager Northeast Asia, highlights the team's performance over the past twelve months "with double-digit growth in shipments and volumes with a positive financial result". For 2025, he announces "to make our structure even more efficient and extend our competencies". In December, the new Energy Solutions division was launched in southern China to provide solutions for e-vehicle batteries.
Logistics balance in the region is shifting
According to Luca Cerruti, the regional focus is "on developing trade solutions combined with our traditional transportation and logistics services", allowing customers to benefit from a. hartrodt's customs expertise. The logistical balance between mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan is currently shifting. For sea freight, Fan Luo, Managing Director South China, explains: "While Hong Kong's traditional role as a logistics hub has been slightly weakened, Taiwan is diversifying its trade routes and supply chains." For air freight, South Korea's Incheon Airport offers a competitive alternative to Hong Kong and Shanghai Pudong.
"We provide customers with a 360-degree service platform, from product sourcing to financing and a full range of logistics services," says Fan Luo. For this purpose, a. hartrodt operates 3,500 square meters of warehouse space with its own team in Hong Kong.
