On April 1, 2026, Sallerie T. Doctor will succeed Armi C. Perez as Managing Director of a. hartrodt Philippines. The new Managing Director, who holds a bachelor’s degree in political science, began her career at the family-owned company 23 years ago in sales. Later, she worked in imports for many years before taking on more responsibility as General Manager in early 2014. The 46-year-old is distinguished by both her solid experience in key functions and her holistic understanding of the business. “I can’t imagine a better mentor than Armi,” she says. Armi Perez (60) is retiring after more than two decades with the company.
110 people, three offices, six trucks
In 2002, Armi Perez was part of a five-person team that successfully established a. hartrodt Philippines in the Manila metropolitan area. Since late 2012, she has led the subsidiary, which now has 110 employees at its headquarters in Makati City, at Clark International Airport (Central Luzon region), and in Cebu (Central Visayas). Under her leadership, the fleet of the domestic transport division, founded in 2015, has also grown to six trucks.
Focus on reliable services
A major milestone was the relocation of the headquarters in 2017 to a 1,300-square-meter building that provides space for further growth in Metro Manila. Sallerie Doctor is pursuing sustainable expansion goals with 70 percent local and 30 percent international clients from the freight forwarding network. She explains why her focus is on reliable services: “There are about 20 typhoons in the Philippines every year, and they can disrupt supply chains.” Given the country’s heavy reliance on oil imports from the Middle East, she considers “continuity to be very important.” In a dynamic business environment, she works in a “data-driven and forward-looking” manner.
“In Southeast Asia, the Philippines is one of the fastest-growing markets,” says Kristian Sabitzki, Regional Managing Director at a. hartrodt. The World Bank forecasts 5.3 percent growth this year, driven by strong domestic demand and infrastructure projects.
