With four short films featuring apprentices, a. hartrodt is now addressing future apprentices in an even more target group-oriented way. For the new campaign, junior employees from all years of apprenticeship stood in front of and behind the camera. "The idea came up during my job interview because I produce videos in my spare time," says Alexander Albus, who is completing a dual degree in logistics management at a. hartrodt. In close coordination with the HR department, he shot an image film plus three short videos on various apprenticeships. "Alex knows a. hartrodt from the perspective of apprentices and applicants," emphasizes Martin Argendorf, Manager Human Resources.

Three different apprenticeships in Germany

Throughout Germany, a. hartrodt is training 45 young talents – freight forwarding and logistics service specialists, office management specialists and IT system integration specialists. Dual study programs are available in logistics management (Hamburg Logistics Bachelor) and computer science (Bachelor of Computer Science). "We will be offering 15 new apprenticeships from August 1, 2025," says Martin Argendorf. The apprentices' videos are intended to support recruitment.

Six months of planning, script work, production and editing

In the short films, young people talk about why they feel at home at a. hartrodt: Great working atmosphere in the family business, cooperation with offices abroad, projects at other locations. Alexander Albus spent six months on this project. For the planning, he worked in a small team with other apprentices. He coordinated the script, production and locations with them. "It was important to share ideas with other apprentices," says Martin Argendorf. The young freight forwarder filmed with his own and rented professional equipment over three months in the fall of 2024 at a. hartrodt's annual apprentices' trip and at the company headquarters in Hamburg. "Our internal previews received a lot of positive feedback from apprentices," reports Alexander Albus.

All four apprentices' videos are now available on the a. hartrodt corporate website under "Career > Apprenticeships". "For mobile recruiting, we publish the short films on Ausbildung.de, social media and our YouTube channel, among others," says Martin Argendorf.
