a. hartrodt's customers can now track consolidated containers (Less than Container Loads, LCL) that pass through the MED HUB LCL in Genoa, Italy, even more effectively and easily. “The Global Tracking Portal now also highlights possible gaps, enabling the team to investigate promptly and proactively to provide customers with updates. These important improvements enable comprehensive transparency: “Customers have proactive visibility and never have to spend time contacting us for updates”, summarizes Miriam Gaeta, Team Leader of the MED HUB Department at a. hartrodt italiana.
Linked to internal milestone tracking system
Since its global rollout in early 2025, a. hartrodt’s Global Tracking Portal has proven effective in virtual tracking and has been continuously refined. At the MED HUB LCL, it is now automatically linked to a. hartrodt’s internal Milestone Tracking System – “making it even more customer-friendly,” Miriam Gaeta emphasizes. Different systems work together seamlessly in the background without the customer even noticing.
Truck shuttles with precise schedules
“We have completely redesigned our operations,” says Paolo Mattei, National Business Process Manager at a. hartrodt italiana. Delivery times are “strictly guaranteed.” In collaboration with trucking partners, regular shuttle departures with precise schedules have been established, and an interactive map shows assured transit times for every pick-up point in the Mediterranean. “Customers can plan their supply chains and inventory with total confidence,” says Miriam Gaeta. The latest global direct connections via the MED HUB LCL include Shanghai and Ningbo for imports, and South Korea and Hong Kong for exports. There is strong demand for Food & Beverage.
According to Miriam Gaeta, exports to South Africa have shown the most incredible development this year: “We are planning our first consolidated reefer container.” Paolo Mattei cites the vision for the MED HUB LCL as “continuously increasing the global network of direct connections.”
