On International Women's Day on March 8, Amaya Teniente, Managing Director of a. hartrodt Chile, states clearly: “There is an incredible level of female talent and expertise driving our industry forward.” She experiences this in her own company and, since the end of 2025, also as a member of WISTA, an international women's network with 6,000 members in the maritime industry. The Women's International Shipping & Trading Association supports female executives in reaching their full potential and has consultative status with the International Maritime Organization (IMO). Amaya Teniente encourages female colleagues to “join WISTA”.

Example for equal opportunities at a. hartrodt

Amaya Teniente is the best example of how equal opportunities are truly practiced at a. hartrodt. The Spaniard headed the Argentinean company for five years before moving to Santiago de Chile. During her 14 years with the company, she also held positions of responsibility in China. “Diversity in leadership development is not only a cultural value, it is a strategic advantage,” she says.

Women's network with concentrated expertise

At WISTA Chile, Amaya Teniente finds it inspiring to “meet so many women in strategic positions across the maritime value chain”. She is struck by the female expertise – whether it's sustainability requirements, digital transformation, or leadership development. The exchange directly benefits a. hartrodt Chile: “We stay connected to industry trends and position ourselves as a forward-thinking logistics partner.” In addition, the women's network opens up opportunities for future partnerships for a. hartrodt Chile. Event topics “have a direct impact on our daily operations”.

Under the theme “Give To Gain”, International Women's Day 2026 calls for the active support for women. Amaya Teniente supports this appeal because she is convinced that “leadership in logistics today is more diverse, more dynamic, and therefore stronger”.
