Energy Solutions for clean energy technologies

New division of a. hartrodt South China focuses on growth industry.

With its new Energy Solutions division, a. hartrodt South China is positioning itself as one of the leading freight forwarders in the region for the energy transition. For three months now, a team in Fuzhou, Xiamen and Shenzhen has been offering a dedicated transportation solution for clean energy technologies. Fan Luo, Managing Director South China, drives a Chinese electric car himself and has developed Energy Solutions. As Regional Sales Manager North East Asia, Luca Cerruti is pushing sales ahead by restructuring the Key Account Management team: "We are implementing a structure with specialized sales people for specific commodities and have started with Energy Solutions."

Focus on Energy Storage Systems and batteries  

"The Chinese government is promoting environmentally friendly technologies and supporting their production," reports Fan Luo. He expects 30 percent growth per year in this sector. Energy Solutions focuses on Energy Storage Systems (ESS), which provide the manufacturing industry with electricity when needed, as well as batteries for electric vehicles. Customers include CATL, the leading Chinese manufacturer of lithium-ion batteries, and ESS.

Hazardous goods certification this year

"We spent more than one year developing Energy Solutions to the highest quality standards," reports Fan Luo. The experienced team from a. hartrodt South China was carefully trained for the highly specialized solution because lithium-ion batteries and large-scale energy storage systems are defined as hazardous goods. Fan Luo expects the corresponding certification "at the end of this year". "Until then, we are able to offer end-to-end services by cooperating with trustworthy partners for warehousing and sea freight, including truck pre- and onward carriage," says Luca Cerruti.

Following the successful launch of Energy Solutions, the Regional Sales Manager North East Asia is already announcing other solutions: "Looking ahead, we plan to create a solid Key Account Management team composed of experts to manage our core vertical markets – starting with automotive, healthcare and perhaps expanding on new ones too."
