New Sea Freight Manager at a. hartrodt

Marcel Cohrs supports realignment with many years of industry expertise.

Since September 1, 2022, Marcel Cohrs has headed the sea freight division of a. hartrodt Germany in Hamburg as Seafreight Manager Germany. In the newly created position, the 42-year-old reports directly to the Managing Director of a. hartrodt Germany, Hendrik Khezri. As part of the realignment, Cohrs will be responsible for sea freight sourcing as well as the import and export products for Germany as a whole. "Having everything under my responsibility puts me in a position to develop strategic sea freight decisions for the management team," he says.

Well connected in sea freight for many years

A native of Kuehlungsborn on the Baltic Sea, he has been working in logistics in a service-oriented manner for 18 years. "I am very well connected," emphasizes the Management Assistant for Freight Forwarding and Bachelor Professional of Transport Management, who used to work for carriers as well as freight forwarders. Since his days with carriers, he has known a. hartrodt and he has always been "impressed by the friendly teamwork." Most recently, he was Chief Operating Officer Seafreight at NTG Air & Ocean in Hamburg.

One sea freight contact for all regions

"The customer is moving even more into focus," Cohrs outlines his main objective at a. hartrodt. In concrete terms, this means: "In the future, we will have a single sea freight contact for all regions. The operative employee will take care of both Asian and North American shipments, for example, and will maintain daily contact with the customer. By the end of the year, Cohrs wants to strengthen the newly organized sea freight division and then expand it: "We plan to add further trade lanes to our strong groupage product with our own LCL containers in Asia import/export."

As a balance to his demanding everyday life, he walks his dog or rides his mountain bike in the Harburg hills around Hamburg.
